Marcher Railways is a detailed and profusely illustrated photographic history of the railways of North East Wales and Shropshire that centred on the two border towns of Wrexham & Oswestry. Among the companies involved were the Shrewsbury & Chester railway, the Wrexham Mold & Connah's Quay Railway, The North Wales Mineral Railway, The Chester & Holyhead Railway, The Wrexham & Minera extension, The London & North Western railway, The Great Western, The Great Central and Cambrian Railways. There were also numerous industrial systems serving the extensive mining, quarrying and iron & steel industries.
The book is illustrated with 275 monochrome photographs, many of which have never previously been published.
